The new age smart messaging application: Google Allo

Google, as we all know it is one of the best companies in the world and also the company which uses artificial intelligence tremendously. The artificial intelligent, agents, software applications, web based intelligent agents, recommender system and many more are provided by Google. It is one of the best organizations in providing artificial intelligence.

So here again, Google with its artificial intelligence techniques, launches a new aged smart messaging application named the Allo.

The initial days by which google provided the messaging service worldwide was done using the Google Hangouts and that was also used for free voice and video calling throughout the globe.

Google now has experimented and came up with a new idea in the recently held Google I/O 2016 event. The idea is to launch a smart messaging app which will help make the conversation much easier and also it will be more open, expressive and easy to understand and easy to read. The complete application is based on artificial intelligence, which will be focusing on machine learning, deep learning. It means the application will learn based on the user behavior and their activity and accordingly the app will express or respond to the user.

It is based on the user’s phone number, and thus user can connect with other people based on the number they (user) have in their phonebook. As it is based on smart artificial intelligence techniques, it keeps the discussion or the conversation going using smart methods and features.

Allo has various inbuilt features such as: Emojis, stickers, Inks and the Whisper shout feature. It has an inbuilt feature of Smart Reply. This allows you to respond to the messages, without typing a single word. Basically this features predicts the type of message the user wants to send or reply. This feature is not only present in a text based content, but it also intelligently analyses a picture and then suggests phrases or messages depending upon the picture.

For example:

  1. For a text based, if you frequently use words like “yo”, “whats up?” then based on this Allo will predict your reply or messaging pattern and will suggest the words accordingly.
  2. For an image based, if the picture that has been sent to you is of a smiling baby, then it automatically predicts messages as “aww, so cute”, “sweet smile”, “love the picture” and many more.

It comes pack with the Google Assistant feature, and thus everything that you want to search information, translate text, and send videos from YouTube and Maps to find your favorite places and many more. So it comes with all the packed features of Google.

As we are aware of how important privacy and security is. Thus Google Allo comes with an incognito mode, which allows to privately and securely chat with your friends, loved ones and others. The chats in this mode will have an end-to-end encryption and will have discreet notifications.
